Waste Collection #1 #2 #3 brings together three series of works based on the collection and cataloguing of discarded materials left behind by human activity. These materials were collected by the artist as a way to study how chaos forms spontaneously through accumulation, repetition, and human gestures, in order to later recreate similar systems within her paintings. The first series, Drippings, transforms hardened acrylic paint residues collected from the floor of the artist’s studio into small sculptural forms. The second gathers used baking papers collected from bakeries across Italian cities, marked by traces of heat, oil, and production. The third, Color Testers, is composed of testing sheets collected from art supply stores in cities historically frequented by artists — including New York, Berlin, London, Paris, Tokyo, Rome, and Milan. Originally produced as functional or accidental residues, these materials become visual archives of collective gestures, repetition, and disorder. The works were later exhibited at the Triennale Milano.
